Sunday School  (September through May)

Children and families are an important part of the life of Christ Church. During the 10:00 am service, Christ Church offers Sunday School for children from age three through high school. Our goals are to help children build a foundation of Christian faith and to create a welcoming home within the church community. Two professional nursery caregivers are available during the service to lovingly provide age-appropriate and safe care to children from birth through age two.

Sunday School classes are grouped by grade and use a variety of age-appropriate lessons to explore lessons in the Bible and foster a sense of wonder and inquiry about God and faith. Middle and high school classes move toward a discussion-based format to bridge the transition from childhood to early adulthood and help youth learn to relate their faith to their lives.

All children Pre-K and older join the congregation for Holy Communion each week. Our Pre-K through 8th grade students gather periodically after Holy Communion to learn music so they can sing during the 10:00 am service. Sunday School children can also participate in the annual Christmas Pageant.

On holiday and selected summer weekends, we offer children’s workshops in lieu of Sunday School classes. The workshops are a "one-room schoolhouse" for children from Pre-K through 5th grade, with middle and high school youth invited to serve as assistants. Many dedicated volunteers guide our children throughout the school year. New adults and older youth are always welcome to join the volunteer team. A background in theology or education is not needed; we provide volunteers with lessons and support.
