Outreach Lenten Collections




A Meal and More is a community kitchen based at Christ Church Rochester. It offers a free hot noon meal to all in need every Sunday and Wednesday. The meals are prepared by a paid chef assisted by teams of volunteers who help prepare, set tables and serve the dinners. Christ Church Pittsford supports A Meal and More with volunteers, grants and donations of food and other needs.

Items Needed:

Canned Tomatoes: Crushed, Diced, or Sauce, 28 oz.

Dried Pasta: all types

Salad Dressing: Italian or Ranch

Canned vegetables: 28 oz. preferred

Zipper top sandwich bags

 

Fostering Hope NY, Inc. provides every child entering foster care in Monroe County with a backpack filled with age-appropriate toiletries, a stuffed animal, book, journal or coloring book and writing utensils. They are also working with the residential placement group at Hillside Family of Agencies, and the Crisis Nursery. Christ Church has provided them with stuffed animals in the past.

Items Needed For school age children and teens:

Socks, Hats and Mittens, and underwear.

 

Veterans Outreach Center is dedicated to providing high-quality individualized services to the men and women who served our country.

In honor of Maundy Thursday, we will collect socks for those in need. This year they will go to the Veterans Outreach Center.

Items Needed: Socks for men and women.
