Monthly Children’s Chapel February 11

Updated: Jan 29

Our youth have enthusiastically and beautifully served in worship ministries on one

Sunday per month since October. We want to spread that enthusiasm for, and knowledge about, Sunday worship to our younger children too. It is so important for them to experience Sunday worship and Communion as central to Christian life. After discussion with Liz Salamone and the Vestry, we want to try a new opportunity for our kids.

On the second Sunday of each month from January to May, children will attend the 10 AM worship with us. Nursery care will be available for the infants and toddlers but there will not be Sunday School. During the hymn before the Gospel reading, children from age 4 to 5 th grade will be invited to go together to the Fellowship Room for Children’s Chapel. Children’s Chapel will include a Bible story, prayers, art or other activity and a song. (The Children’s Chapel theme song is “This Little Light of Mine.”) The children will rejoin the congregation at The Peace. This will give them the opportunity to pray the Eucharistic Prayer with us and come to Holy Communion with their family. We hope that Sunday worship with Children’s Chapel will promote our children’s active participation and delight in worship.                                                                                                         -Julianne+
