LISTENING SESSIONS REFRESH BRUNCH: SUNDAY, JUNE 1

A little more than two years ago, many of you participated in our listening sessions project. At that time, we were in a significant transition as a parish, and we used the listening sessions to help us talk with one another about our congregational priorities, including our challenges and hopes for the future. Your participation in that process was impressive and enormously helpful as we used what you shared with us to help guide us through a successful transition that culminated in calling Kevin as our rector.

The wardens and vestry recently established a stewardship committee, which is being ably led by Jim Willer. The goal of the committee is to develop a comprehensive stewardship plan that can significantly support our parish mission while lessening our reliance on endowment funding. This financial goal was identified as a priority as we proceeded through the search process that led us to Kevin.

After considerable discussion, the stewardship committee, wardens and vestry have decided it important to revisit what we learned from you through the listening sessions process, and to reassess where we now are with respect to the key areas addressed.

Are our priorities the same, then as now?

* What has changed?

* Where have we made progress?

* Where do we continue to face challenges?

* What ideas to you have about how we can strengthen the vitality of our congregational life and live more fully into what God is calling us to be and do as a parish?

Your perspectives will then inform the stewardship plan that is currently in development and will help guide our parish leaders in the forthcoming year.

You do not need to have participated in the initial listening sessions process toparticipate in the Listening Sessions Refresh Brunch on Sunday, June 1 after the 10:00 am service. ALL ARE NEEDED AND WELCOME! Please click here to sign up.

We plan to briefly review the process we initially used, including key lessons learned. We will also highlight our progress to date in each area presented. We will then break into small groups, each with a facilitator and scribe to hear your perspectives on our progress as described, and on the questions posed above. With the small group’s permission, the scribe will only take notes on key ideas expressed; no identifying information will be shared. The facilitators/scribes will then identify themes that emerged across the groups and a report of these themes will be shared with the parish.

One of the things we learned through the listening sessions is that we need to share food with one another as often as possible and therefore, brunch will be served! (Look for the sign up online in this week’s Mailchimp.)

We sincerely look forward to hearing your perspectives on what promises to be an informative, lively, and important discussion that will help shape the future of Christ Church Pittsford moving forward!

Many thanks,

The Stewardship Committee,

Jim Willer, Deb Lattime, Walter Hickey, Patty Sampson-Bouchard, Ann Barnum-Clemens, Natalie Mai-Dixon, Nicole DeBraal, David Bakken, Jeremy Brown and Daryl Sharp, Listening Session Lead
