BAPTISMS • WEDDINGS • FUNERALS
Baptisms
Baptism is a joyful occasion when one
is welcomed as a member of the Christian community by water and
the Holy Spirit. Infant
and adult baptisms are offered at Christ Church on specific Sundays
during the year. Other arrangements may be made by the clergy;
however, baptisms always take place at a public service. Also,
some pre-baptism education is required, usually in the form of
meetings with one of the clergy.
If you are interested in baptism, please contact the
office at 586-1226 or e-mail us.
Weddings
We rejoice when a couple begins their marriage with a
wedding at Christ Church. This is a most exciting time in your life. The
clergy and staff consider it a privilege to assist you in having
your wedding service here. In addition to assuring that the service
is a beautiful beginning to a vital and successful marriage, the
pastoral staff will continue to be available to you for consultation
and support as your life together unfolds.

The service proclaims that marriage is a gift created by God,
blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ and sustained by the Holy Spirit.
It presumes that the couple shares the belief that marriage is
a life-long covenant of mutual love, faithfulness and service.
It also presumes you want your wedding to take place in the church
as an expression of your own faith and desire to have God as an
ongoing partner in your marriage.
If you are you interested in getting married at Christ Church,
please contact the office at 586-1226 or e-mail us for more information.
Funerals
The loss of a loved one is very painful, whether it happens
suddenly or following a long illness. The clergy and staff
want to be helpful and supportive of families during this difficult
time, both pastorally in the grieving process, and in planning
a service that expresses the love for the deceased, offers a time
for family and friends to gather and gain strength from each other,
and affirms our hope for the future.
Funerals and memorial services can be scheduled through the office
at 586-1226 or e-mail us. It is important to involve the office early in
the planning process in order to insure the availability of the
building, clergy, and musicians. The funeral service
is a celebration of the life of the person, taken from the Book
of Common Prayer. Choices of lessons, prayers, hymns and
other music, and sermon and/or eulogy which reflect the life of
the deceased are made in close consultation with the clergy and
director of music.
The office maintains Funeral Arrangement Forms for parishioners who
wish to make some plans regarding readings, music, disposition of
remains, and other concerns in advance. These can be updated
at any time by contacting the office. |
