ABOUT US

Christ Church was founded in 1846 in the building located at 23 South Main Street (now occupied by Hicks and McCarthy Restaurant). The cornerstone for our current building was laid in 1868.

Over the years we have grown into a diverse community of about 370 families—nearly 900 members. We try to connect people to their own best selves, to one another, and to God through a unique blend of open and lively theological discussion and traditional worship.

We are led by our rector, the Rev. Winifred Collin. We are governed by an elected group of parishioners called the Vestry, and hundreds of parishioners work hard every week to make our worship, education, and other programs the best they can be.

Christ Episcopal Church is a member of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America and the Diocese of Rochester.
