How to Join Minimize

We happily welcome new members to Christ Church in a variety of ways!

Attend: Our community gathers for worship every Sunday at 8 and 10 am we encourage all members to come be a part of this weekly celebration. Children are welcome at any service, and there is Sunday School and professional childcare provided during the 10 am service every week.

Fill out a Welcome Card: Filling out one of the blue Welcome Cards (available in the pews, in the back of the church, or in the entryway) and putting it in the offering plate or giving it to an usher or member of the clergy or staff helps us put you on our mailing list, and lets us get to know you and your interests and needs a little better.

Contact the office: You can give your address and family information directly to Cindy in the office by calling 586-1226 or writing to our address (below)—or e-mail us.

Pledge your financial support: Christ Church’s budget is based on the pledges of financial support we get from our members. Making a pledge helps the Vestry to make responsible budgets to provide the worship and programming we all rely on. Pledge cards are available in the back of the church, in the entryway, or from the office.

Speak to the clergy or staff: We are always delighted to meet new and prospective members, and can help get your information to the office and answer your questions about membership.

New Member Welcome
Twice a year (generally late fall and late spring) we have a formal welcoming and recognition of new members. If you have recently been added to our mailing lists, you should receive an invitation to one of these events. However, if we have inadvertently overlooked you, and you wish to participate in one of these services, call the office at 586-1226, or let a member of the clergy know, or e-mail us

Letter of Transfer: If you have recently been a member of another Episcopal Church (or any other denomination that follows this practice), you may request a letter of transfer from your former parish. It should be sent to Christ Church, 36 S. Main Street, Pittsford, NY 14534 attn: Cindy Kline. Requests for letters of transfer must be made by the member directly to the former church; our office cannot make the request on your behalf.

Baptism: If you have been baptized in any church of any denomination, you are considered by the Episcopal Church to be a member of the Christian community and do not need to be baptized again. For more information on baptism call the church office.

Reception: If you are baptized member of another denomination coming to the Episcopal Church for the first time, you may consider being formally received by our denomination. If you are interested in being received into the Episcopal Church formally, please speak to a member of the clergy.
